FLARE VENTS STACK PURGING

The flaring or venting of gases is an essential practice in a number of industrial processes, including oil and gas production, blast furnaces, coke ovens (COG), and petrochemical facilities. These processes are protected against a buildup of explosive mixtures through purging with non-reactive gases such as nitrogen. The purge gas is injected at different locations within the vent/flare system, maintaining positive pressures throughout and preventing ingress of external reactants.
